What is common and what is different among books of the Jewish Bible, the Catholic Bible, the Orthodox Bible, and the Protestant Bible
The common elements among the books of the Jewish Bible, the Catholic Bible, the Orthodox Bible and the Protestant Bible include:
a. Although each of the Bibles vary in the number of books they contain, each relates the story of God's plan for salvation
b. The translations of all the Bibles are based upon the Hebrew Bible
c. The Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant Bibles order their books according to the Septuagint which is referred to asLXX. LXX is the Greek translation of the Jewish Scriptures. The Jewish Bible is ordered after the Hebrew Bible
d. Some titles of the books are different. Samuel 1 and Samuel 2 in the Christian Bibles are called 1 Kingdoms and 2 Kingdoms in the Hebrew Bible
